The Group is working to infl uence and support its subcontractor partners to promote their energy transition. The following key actions are intended to achieve the objectives for scope 3 (subcontracted transport): ● maritime transport: 8% reduction in intensity thanks to optimized loads and improved selection of routes and vessels, and 15% thanks to the use of sustainable marine fuels; ● road transport: 12% reduction in intensity thanks to optimized loads and routes and energy effi ciency measures, and 15% thanks to the selection and commitment of road transport subcontractors in the transition of their fl eets; ● rail transport: 8% reduction in intensity thanks to optimized loads and routes and energy effi ciency measures, and 15% thanks to the electrifi cation of trains; ● air transport: 15% reduction by selecting the best routes and planes, and 10% by using Sustainable Aviation Fuels. Decarbonization levers To achieve its objectives, GEODIS has identifi ed fi ve levers for decarbonization across its entire value chain, resulting from the work(1) of the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe (ALICE), a European platform, and the Smart Freight Centre. Optimized management of transport fl ows Optimal combination of transport modes Optimization of resources (transport loading rates and warehouse density) Improved energy effi ciency of vehicles and buildings Use of low-carbon technologies and energies (1) Source: https://www.etp-logistics.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Alice-Zero-Emissions-Logistics-2050-Roadmap-WEB.pdf 2024 ACTIVITY AND SUSTAINABILITY REPORT - 45 EDITORIAL > 1.
