Today's online shoppers expect fast delivery and a known delivery date once the order is placed. Companies have realised that too much lead time can lead to a loss of customers and damage their reputation.
Once a year, GEODIS improves the calculation methodology for its freight forwarding emission reporting and modelling solution, called BLUE2.
BLUE2 is based on EcoTransIT World tool (http://www.ecotransit.org) and GEODIS' business data and is in line with the European standard EN16258 and the GLEC Framework.
BLUE2 defines how GEODIS creates state of the art emission reporting on our freight forwarding activities at the level of the individual customer. Based on our emission reports, customers are able to monitor developments in the emissions of their transports and work to optimize their emission footprint.
