One of our priority challenges
GEODIS is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.
The Group is taking action to adapt to the effects of climate change, to optimize its use of resources, and to prevent and reduce polluting emissions and nuisances in order to lessen the impact on people and ecosystems.
Our objectives

Our climate commitments
GEODIS is committed to reducing its carbon emissions through the application of a science-based approach
In key figures, over the period 2022 to 2030:
- 42% absolute reduction in emissions from our direct activities and from the energy we purchase;
- reduction of at least 25% in outsourced transport services. Depending on the mode, this target is expressed either in absolute terms, or in terms of intensity per t.km.
Our approach to decarbonization
The transport and logistics sector bears responsibility for 11% of the world’s CO2 emissions. It must be determined in its approach to environmental and climate protection.
GEODIS approaches the decarbonization challenge in a holistic way, based on the 5 solution areas developed by ALICE – the Alliance of Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe.

Air quality
GEODIS is focused on limiting the impact of its activities on air quality and public health. The Group is developing a competitive low-carbon delivery service adapted to environmental challenges in city centers (pollution, noise, traffic congestion, etc.).
As a last-mile delivery operator, GEODIS addresses regulatory and societal changes with solutions that tackle two key challenges:
- Distribution centers must be strategically placed near high-density areas to reduce trip length and optimize customer stops.
- Reducing the environmental impact of urban logistics by testing and deploying alternative vehicles, such as electric and compressed natural gas models.
Managing natural resources
GEODIS is committed to the responsible management of natural resources such as energy, water and raw materials.
GEODIS’s commitments in favor of the circular economy are on two levels:
- customer flows: the Group supports its customers by providing them with solutions for redefining their logistics flows and creating virtuous loops;
- management of operational sites: internally, GEODIS applies the principles of the circular economy to its own operations to reduce its environmental footprint (e.g., to limit its use of natural resources and its production of waste).
