A strategy driven by Business Excellence

GEODIS' strategy is geared towards one ambition: to become the undisputed leader in the Transport and Logistics sector. Our Business Excellence model is the driving force behind this strategy, and is inspired by the model recommended by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). We build from this strong foundation, supporting it through frequent and routine performance indicator measurements. Our goal is Stakeholders' Total Satisfaction (STS) – total satisfaction for our clients, employees, shareholders and society at large.

Our Mission – to help clients succeed by overcoming their logistical constraints – helped us to develop this model. Our Vision – to be our clients’ growth partner – and our Values – passion, commitment, innovation, solidarity and trust – help us drive this model forward daily.

In fact, GEODIS' Mission, Vision and Values make up our DNA, and we apply them on an operational level through our 7 Golden Rules and 7 Leadership Principles.

7 Golden Rules

GEODIS’ 7 Golden Rules define our operating principles and create a common language that sets us apart from all other providers in the market. They allow every employee to speak with one voice and work towards a common goal. We monitor each of the Golden Rules annually through one or more performance indicators.

Measuring our success

When it comes to assessing this ambitious Business Excellence approach, we measure progress yearly through satisfaction surveys as well as through evaluations according to international standards such as ISO certifications. This approach to continuous improvement has proved successful, and has allowed the Group to reach our current position among the top ten worldwide leaders in logistics and transport.

A Business Excellence Model for competitive advantage

Our Business Excellence Model provides competitive advantages for both GEODIS and our clients:

  • Our Five Lines of Business (Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, Distribution & Express, Road Transport, Supply Chain Optimization) provide complementary and comprehensive coverage for all logistics and transport needs.
  • An advanced human resources program promotes a corporate culture of leadership and excellence that is passed on to clients every step of the way.
  • Our 'LEAN' and 'Re-engineering' programs demonstrate operational excellence at each step of all processes, resulting in the greatest benefits for our clients.
  • Our Cutting-edge information systems fit within our approach to continuous innovation that helps us stay one step ahead of operations and anticipate future trends.
  • Our Ethics and Compliance policy feeds into each of our core lines of business, so you can rest assured that you are working with a responsible partner committed to corporate social responsibility, wherever we operate across the globe.
