BHV MARAIS supplied by natural gas trucks as part of a project led with GEODIS

BHV MARAIS is completely renewing its supply truck fleet in June 2015 with vehicles powered exclusively by natural gas (NGV). The clean and environment-friendly solution for the neighborhood surrounding the department store was developed by GEODIS, the transport and logistics leader in France.

To better respond to the new expectations of the City of Paris in terms of the fight against pollution, and in line with its commitment to sustainable development, BHV MARAIS called on its partner GEODIS to develop a clean vehicle solution for deliveries between its warehouse and its store.

Boasting the largest NGV fleet in France, GEODIS has devised a transport solution based on six road tractors. The vehicles have a range of 600 km and are able to make deliveries over a two-day period on a single tank. The NGV trucks are a credible alternative to petrol vehicles, with a 15% smaller carbon footprint, and reduce sound pollution by 50% for local residents. NGV, a clean energy, is currently one of the best alternatives to diesel-powered heavy goods transport.

By rolling out the new truck fleet, BHV MARAIS and GEODIS are seeking to develop cleaner and more responsible transport and to respect the concerns of their customers, employees, residents and suppliers, and, more broadly, civil society as a whole.

The year of the COP 21 UN Climate Change Conference, to be held in Paris in December, 2015 is a decisive year for the environment. The joint project of BHV MARAIS and GEODIS, launched to coincide with European Sustainable Development Week (May 30 to June 5), ties in with that momentum.
