GEODIS the logistics partner to the French Armed Forces participates in the ORION 26 MilitaryTraining Exercise 

 

GEODIS announces its participation in the tabletop exercise Excalibur 26, Which is part of the fourth phase of the French military training exercise ORION 26. Excalibur 26 is a planning exercise focused on managing the transport of resources over long distances using multimodal routes. GEODIS was invited to participate by the French Armed Forces General Staff for its expertise in the area of “road transport.”

GEODIS is participating as a private logistics operator in Excalibur 26, one of the phases of the inter ministerial war game, ORION 26. The exercise aims to train and test the armed forces, general staff and the private sector’s support in high-intensity operations against an adversary of equal standing.

 

The Excalibur 26 exercise, which takes place today, prepares public and private operators to work together in the fields of transport and logistics.

 

“This strategic exercise aims to strengthen civil-military cooperation incase of a major crises. It demonstrates GEODIS’s ability to anticipate future challenges, enhance collective resilience, and ensure the responsiveness and robustness of the logistics ecosystem in times of crisis. This collaboration continues our commitment to supporting French sovereignty. In 2020, at the covid pandemic GEODIS was selected by the State to ensure the safe transport of masks from China to Europe, already proving its ability to intervene quickly and efficiently during emergency situations,” said Marie-Christine Lombard, CEO of GEODIS.

 

Organized at GEODIS’s headquarters this exercise brings together the French Ministry of Transport, the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, as well as the main private logistics and transport operators involved.
