Energy Surcharge

To account for price volatility and related regulations, GEODIS has applied a fuel surcharge rate to road transport since 2004.

As a responsible player, GEODIS continues its efforts towards decarbonization and the energy transition of its vehicle fleet, which leads to a modification of the scope of this surcharge that will be named “energy surcharge rate” from January 1st, 2026.

Thus, from this date, the energy surcharge is no longer only indexed to fluctuations in the price of gazole, but now takes into account the growing share of renewable energies in the company’s energy mix.

It is determined based on the kilometers traveled for each type of energy ⁽¹⁾

Index per energy

The energy surcharge is calculated according to the monthly indices linked to the prices of the different energies: 

• Gazole and HVO: CNR gazole tank average monthly price (price in €/l excl. VAT)
• GNV: CNR PEG (price in €/MWh excl. VAT)
• Electricity: Nord Pool index (price €/MWh excl. VAT) 

Please note that these official indices are published with a two-month delay, so the surcharge applicable in a given month M corresponds to the indices of month M-2.

Energy surcharge rate per energy 

The energy surcharge rate results from the surcharge rates of each of the following energies:

This energy surcharge applies to all your national and European shipments, for parcel and express deliveries (excluding chartering and international air express services, notably Fly Express, which are subject to the air freight fuel surcharge), and appears as a percentage increase at the bottom of the invoice. 

Specific chartering rate for January 2026: 15,34%. The mix is 100% gazole.

These provisions, in accordance with law no. 2006-10 of January 5, 2006, are legally mandatory.
