Ocean Freight Solutions

With a global network and industry expertise, GEODIS offers Ocean Freight solutions with a variety of options. When it comes to Ocean Freight shipping, you can choose between Full Container Load (FCL), LCL (Less than Container Load), or a combination of Sea-Air. Our in-house expertise also covers Oversized & Project Cargo, Breakbulk, Dangerous Goods Handling, Buyer’s Consolidation, Transport Insurance and more.

Our Ocean freight shipping services also cover the entire freight transportation process.

Whichever group of Ocean Freight shipping services you choose, we’ll help you achieve an exceptional balance between time and cost to meet your needs.

Buyer's Consolidation reduces freight costs by grouping shipments from different suppliers and sending a single invoice for multiple cargo shipments. This freight consolidation service includes the composition of one unique transport document summarizing the total number of packages, weight and volume. See details

GEODIS’ Ocean Freight forwarding services cover the entire freight transportation process and the entire range of ocean cargo shipping. Our Full Container  Load (FCL) service offers departures to and from all major ports worldwide. Our Less than Container Load (LCL) services are the most flexible and least expensive way to ship smaller, less time-sensitive products. And our Sea-Air offering is more cost-effective than Airfreight, with better transit times than Ocean Freight.  Your goods will get to their national or international freight destination safely and on time.   See details

Offering a sustainable alternative fuel for Ocean freight is another step within GEODIS sustainability efforts.   Sustainable Marine Fuel (SMF) is indeed a key element to mitigate ocean transportation's impact on climate change. It is in fact one of the most effective measure at the present time to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of our activities.   Made from sustainable feedstocks (mainly cooking oil), it is very similar in its chemistry to traditional fossil fuel. The result of SMF use is a significantly reduced amount of additional carbon introduced into the global carbon cycle of at least 90%. This is one of the strategic paths followed by GEODIS to help reduce CO2 emissions from ocean freight.   GEODIS SMF is an “insetting” solution that offers our customers the possibility to act directly on their transportation. Specifically, GEODIS customers can now decarbonize their complete ocean freight supply chains as the new service offer a fuel-switch on behalf of the customer.             GEODIS is now offering its customers a new and easier way to contribute to the reduction of their carbon footprint by choosing sustainable biofuels.   Need for more information on this solution?
