[EN] Respect for People, the Environment and Ethics

Being a good citizen stands as a priority for GEODIS, particularly when dealing with a market like luxury. As per surveys we have conducted over the years, nearly 90% of customers and employees are satisfied with either our CSR performance, health and safety issues.

When it comes to fashion or luxury goods, more and more end-customers want to know their origin, and if they were made in a sustainable & ethical way. As logistics handling is part of the process, every year, GEODIS publishes a complete Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report detailing our impact on the environment and the actions we take to minimize it.

Our involvement

Our company is an active member in the most significant think tanks and organizations globally and locally, and was given a “gold” CSR recognition level by EcoVadis, placing us within the top 5% of the EcoVadis CSR score and medal program.

Our most important CSR commitments focus on three main areas:

  • Environmental focus: mitigate and lower our impact on the environment and contribute to the fight against climate change.
  • Social and societal focus: enhance our social and societal impact by ensuring the well-being and development of our people and local communities.
  • - Ethics and compliance focus: act responsibly in everything we do.

As we want to offer visibility on greenhouse gas to everyone, we have developed an in-house reporting tool for all GEODIS activities, called BLUE2, that reports CO2 while finding solutions to optimize transport plans and supply chain performance and efficiency.

Reducing our environmental impact

As we identified fuel consumption as our number one emission on a yearly basis, it also became our number one reduction priority. This is why most of our vehicle fleet is renewed constantly and complies with the latest European emission standards.

Thanks to our high level of know-how in reverse logistics, we design innovative solutions to promote the circular economy. We reuse, recycle, recover and dispose of used IT equipment and parts. Our Product End-of-life Management (PELM) solution for high-tech products allows us to recycle 99% of materials.

Focusing on people to fully contribute to a sustainable future

At GEODIS, we strive to ensure the safety of employees everywhere and at all times. Within our sites worldwide, we take action to reduce accidents through training, events, safety challenges, communication, research and the design of ergonomic solutions.

Providing professional opportunities for all, we promote reintegration through employment and gender equality via our GEODIS women’s network.
