Revised Deployment Dates for FDA ACE Supplemental Guide 2.5.12 Update

Trade and Customs Updates

1) Revised Deployment Dates for FDA ACE Supplemental Guide 2.5.12 Update

CSMS # 64063659 provides revised production deployment dates for changes outlined in CSMS # 63839331, related to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ACE Supplemental Guide (Draft Version 2.5.12, updated January 15, 2025).

  • Validations initially scheduled for deployment on February 22, 2025, are now set to deploy in the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Production environment on March 1, 2025.
  • Validations originally planned for March 22, 2025, are now expected to deploy on March 29, 2025.

 

2) Spring 2025 Customs Broker License Exam

CBP has published CSMS # 64080803 confirming registration for the Customs Broker License is now open and will close on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 4:30 pm. Applicants can register on the CBP Portal.

 

3) FDA Updated Document Related to Electronic Nicotine Delivery System Products

The FDA has updated its guidance document for importing Electronic Nicotine Delivery System (ENDS) products into the U.S. The document provides plain-language instructions to help importers ensure a smooth FDA admissibility process. Importers should supply necessary information to their customs brokers to avoid delays. 

 

ENDS products are typically associated with an FD flag, indicating FDA regulation, and must be reported accordingly. Each product variation (e.g., brand, flavor) must be listed separately in ACE entries. The update also includes contact information for HTS code support. 4) Production Deployment for EPA Hydrofluorocarbon Program

The updates to the EPA Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) program are scheduled for deployment in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) PRODUCTION environment on March 1, 2025. They are currently accessible in CBP’s ACE CERTIFICATION environment.
